Viewer account privacy
What we store after you create a MOCHA viewer account with Google, who can see it, and how to change or delete it. Streamer accounts are separate and not covered here.
What we store
- From Google: your email, Google account ID and Google picture link. We only ask for basic access — we cannot see your YouTube channel, contacts, mail or password.
- What you set: your name, picture (Google, uploaded, or skipped) and whether streamers can see your email.
- From us: your viewer number (V + 8 digits), when the account was created and when you last logged in.
- When you tip, pay for a request or draw while logged in, that payment record is linked to your viewer account. Payment records belong to the streamer and are kept either way (for 13 months).
- Total support: how much you paid each streamer while logged in, kept as one total per month (in TWD). Payment records are cleared after 13 months, but these totals do not expire; they stay until you delete your viewer account.
- Points (only with streamers who turned points on): where each point came from (a reward for a payment, or a gift from the streamer), the note the streamer wrote to you, and whether it was taken back. Points are only used on the web.
- When a streamer sends you points by email and you have not accepted them yet: we only store a hash of that email (it cannot be turned back into the email) and a mostly hidden version of it. They are linked to your viewer account only after you accept.
- Claims for earlier tips: the name you typed, which tips you asked for, and whether the streamer approved.
- When you tip on a streamer page, this phone’s browser remembers those order numbers (stored only on this phone). After you log in, the page uses them to ask which of those tips nobody has claimed yet, so you can claim them without typing a name. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Who can see it
- You: everything, in your viewer page.
- Streamers you tip: your name, picture, viewer number, and your tips, total support and points with them. If you chose “Show to streamers”, they also see your email; otherwise only your viewer number.
- When you ask a streamer to approve a claim: that streamer sees the name you typed and the tips you asked for.
- Streamers can add notes to point records that only their team can see; you cannot see these.
- MOCHA: everything, including your email, when handling a problem (for example when you ask us for help, or the account is misused).
- Other viewers: only the tip names the streamer shows publicly (leaderboards, thank-you lists). Tips you sent while logged in, and earlier tips a streamer approved for you, show your viewer account name in places like the leaderboard and recent cheers.
What it is used for
- Recognising you: your tips stay yours even if you change devices or names.
- Showing you who you support, and helping streamers keep track of tips (email only if you allow it).
- Counting your total support and points, and letting streamers check that the tips you claim are yours.
- We do not sell it or hand it to anyone else. We will not send ads to your email, and we will not use your name or picture for promotion.
- We may publish statistics that cannot identify anyone (for example, how many people use MOCHA).
Change or delete
- Name, picture and email visibility: any time in Settings on your viewer page.
- Delete your viewer account: at the bottom of Settings. Your name, picture (including uploads), viewer number, email, total support, point records and claims are removed; streamers only see the name you typed on each tip, and claimed tips go back to unclaimed. Records of points a streamer sent by email belong to that streamer and are kept, but no longer linked to you.
- Anything a streamer saved separately has to be handled by that streamer.
Who to contact
- Money you pay a streamer (tips, song requests, draws) goes straight to the streamer’s own account. MOCHA only provides the tools and is not a party to anything between you and the streamer; MOCHA never handles that money and cannot refund it.
- Refunds, request and draw results, points, whether a claim is approved, and any rewards a streamer promises are decided and handled by that streamer — please contact the streamer directly.
- When you contact a streamer, just give your viewer number (this works even if you chose not to show them your email).
- Contact MOCHA only about the viewer account itself (cannot log in, cannot change your details, deleting the account, privacy): use the feedback page on the MOCHA website and include your viewer number — no email needed.
